Seems that I'm going to dump MySQL one of these days.
Server/database maintenance looks good in the new MariaDB project.  ;)
Since Sun isn't exactly interested in maintaining the MySQL anymore.

A truly open source SQL server developed by the man behind the MySQL project, Ulf Michael «Monty» Widenius.

Bitter words mean little to me. Autumn winds will blow right through me
And someday in the mist of time, when they asked me if I knew you
I'd smile and say you were a friend of mine, and the sadness would be lifted from my eyes
Oh when I'm old and wise

it's supposedly "drop in" compatible with the database files. so if you're going to break your website you might as well do it sooner than later.

btw. this is website related discussion, not media. if you continue to post irradically & off topic I'll have to ban you from the forums

How could I forget?  ;D
I thought it was mentioned something about computers in the sub header.

I'm not starting with MariaDB at this point.
The project is still in an alpha stage.
But Mr Widenius is a genious, so I expect it to be quite nice in the near future.
