Hello all,

Recently got back into mapping and put this together for Duke 3D while learning the editor.
Didn't have much of a theme until I realized we were close to Halloween. So I threw in some blood, guts, and coffins...ect...
Map is a duke match so not much fun unless someone starts up a MP game.
Maybe when Steam gets the mp further along...
Anyway, let me know if you take a look...I am looking for feed back. There may be some odds and ends I missed.

Hello and welcome aboard  :)

You said you got back into mapping....
Did you release anything?

Regarding DM-maps: Not many are playing DM anymore. But as you said; The Dukematching might get a boost when Steam is done  ;)
Bitter words mean little to me. Autumn winds will blow right through me
And someday in the mist of time, when they asked me if I knew you
I'd smile and say you were a friend of mine, and the sadness would be lifted from my eyes
Oh when I'm old and wise

Judging from the pics the map has some atmosphere, probably due to the good use of wall shading. Have you thought about making singleplayer maps? Lots of people still play those.
Wall whore.

Puritan - I worked on various mods for Half Life 1 when it was the top FPS PC game years back.
Some maps were included in the mod downloads.  Also some audio/music I did.
I did a map for Doom 3 but not much after that.

Micky C - I have considered the single player maps.  Might try one.
I am still working with the editor...not sure my wall shading is all that great but thanks.  I need to toy/practice with it a bit more...but that's were another map would come into play.

Hmmmm.....sure this release is complete?
I got some ugly visual errors.
Could it be that you've been using custom ART files in your development?

Right in the beginning when facing straight forward.
I've looked into Mapster and discovered that you've been using custom art in the development.

Open your Duke folder and I bet there is a file somewhere around there called something like: TILESxxx.ART  ;)

thank you for the info.
Looks like I downloaded too many maps and ended up using some of the custom art on accident.

The important thing is that you didn't leave all the walls the same shade, which makes the world look very flat and dull.

If you did make a singleplayer map, I'm sure you know that you would have to raise the detail level a touch (although not too much if you don't want to). While Dukematch is purely about the gameplay, singleplayer is more about the immersive experience.
Wall whore.
