^Welcome aboard, Duke Nukem mapper!  ;D
Bitter words mean little to me. Autumn winds will blow right through me
And someday in the mist of time, when they asked me if I knew you
I'd smile and say you were a friend of mine, and the sadness would be lifted from my eyes
Oh when I'm old and wise

Hi everyone. I'm very excited to be a part of a (hopefully) active Duke Nukem mapping forum. I used to be quite happy at duke4.net (and I still am) but the focus there is too broad, and I spend more time in mapster than eduke these days, which isn't as good as you think because I don't play as many new (or old) releases as I should.

I also didn't read the forums rules or whatever they are when I registered, so strike me down if you must  ;)
Wall whore.

Hey, welcome Mickey C  :)

Agree.
Hopefully we'll pull together a nice hide-out for mappers (and players) around here.

Glad to see you here.

Duke4 is okay; I laud Tx for trying to accommodate the mappers the first time DN-R went down, but like you mentioned, it seemed a little chaotic and lacked focus.

I think than Puritan must left a message and a link in the front page of DNR.

And i think too that we have to recruit a lot of mappers from other sites dedicated to DN and bring'em here.
It can be useful for them and for us.
And perhaps dedicate this forum only for mappers ?
Another day,another challenge.

I've thought about it.
But I don't think it's a right thing to do.
Maybe when we have a decent database up and running.
For now this isn't exactly a "map-repository".  :)

I was hoping to making this forum a place for mappers.
But everybody is welcome!

If you want to create this forum for mappers, you must advertise this one  :)

I think the front must be dedicate for players (like a shop) and the forum for mappers (like a factory). It will be  better because when i throw a look to other forums(like Duke4),i've just seen a mess of posts.
So i priest you to write it on the front because when a body see your website,he just sees a little active forum and not a powerful center of mappers.
By anyway and it's true than there 's not a lot of active mappers, but even if you attract twenty mappers,it will be a great success (more than 200 players   :D ).

And i remenber you than your loyal worker still asks for challenge  ;)

Quality before quantity  ;)

I think mappers will find the way on their own as time goes by and there's releases around here.
And there is quite a few top notch mappers present already  :)

I'm not aiming at having 5,000 members.
More like having a community of dedicated Duke 3D players and mappers.
And a site you can rely on!
I've just payed my web host for 12 more months  8)

The Commander

I didn't even know this site existed because I couldn't check the forums at DNR due to the "You are banned" crap. :-\

I only found it because Micky C linked to the site in the Parkade map at Duke4.net
