We decided to give mappers some credits and honour by having the limelight shining on their maps and works in the Duke Nukem 3D community. Both past and present mappers.

Mapper of the month will not have a theme.

It's more like a surprise, if you like. It could be Pascal Rouaud. Or it could be a long forgotten mapper....
You never know

Bitter words mean little to me. Autumn winds will blow right through me
And someday in the mist of time, when they asked me if I knew you
I'd smile and say you were a friend of mine, and the sadness would be lifted from my eyes
Oh when I'm old and wise

You should change mapper of the month to mapper of the semester  ;D

Wish I could be a fly on the wall on that 'university'.
Imagine Dukes reaction when the professor pronounce something like this: "...extra terrestrial life is nonsense and just a product of sci-fi writers twisted minds!"

And on which standards will you judge the mapper of the month ?

Another day,another challenge.

I'm not too involved in the selection process, but I think a qualifier would be at least the release of two single player maps of high quality

Ahh, that's a bummer. Most of my more recent stuff is tied up in the next WGRealms 2 release, which at this rate won't be out for another year.
Wall whore.

I don't know if DM maps are considered or not, and I'm guessing that maps tied up in large releases (like TC's) aren't even on the radar (bit difficult to feature one individual's work when it's intermingled into, and a piece of something larger - it would need it's own designated map release page)

Thy shall not fear!
Your time will come. It will be a new mapper each month  ;)

Well, mapper of the month is just a kind of nice advertising so ?

With a special page to show his work, critics and even perhaps an interview.
So all people here will be the" mapper of the month",if i understand.
And perhaps twice if he works enough  ;)

Yes, everyone here who meets the requirements will eventually be mapper of the month. I may have to throw a bitch tantrum to get our modest administrator to include himself in that list though  ;)

:D  I'm on that list but you'll have to scroll down a bit.

If mapper of the month must be someone from this forum, and there are currently 14 members, then all I have to do is wait 13 months  ;D

Although the thing is it'd be pretty hard to argue what a 'quality' release is wouldn't it? Is it a map that's great fun? Or is it a map that has a high score based on details, architecture, and all those other catagories? Hopefully the standard is low so the two maps I've released so far are counted  :P lol!
Wall whore.

Being a member of the forum is not a requirement to be mapper of the month. Any map/mod worth being hosted here is the "qualifier"
