Other Games / Shadow Warrior (1997) WangBang...
Last post by Mawxiwtz - 13 July 2026, 13:58:58For a long time we thought WangBang demos are fundamentally broken as they never played correctly with "sw -dp". Turns out you just have to simulate network game with multiple machines / DOSBox instances in order to play them right! TENNO HEIKA BANZAI!!! 
Thanks a lot to Maligned for revealing this secret.
Necessary steps:
1. run the necessary amount of dosbox instances
2. connect the instances to eachother with ``ipxnet startserver`` & ``ipxnet connect localhost``
3. from all instances, run setup.exe with -dp param, e.g. ``setup -dpSPPK -level1 -monst``
4. specify the amount of players and start the network game
Additionally, I arranged this little demo player program to make otherwise tedious process be a matter of two clicks: WangBang Demo Player
...and began work on WangBang Demo Archive: https://desomorphine.ru/sw/demos/

The headliner would be Iron Maiden.
This will be the 5th time I'll see them live.
The first time was way back in 1980 when they haven't reached the halls of fame yet.
Actually, they were warm-up band for the headliner; Kiss !!!

Classic Duke 3D / A lost map. (Out World)
Last post by Corvin - 16 June 2026, 02:52:02I'm looking for a map from like 1997, called Outworld by James Thies. The filename was (outworld.zip) at about 1meg in size. Comes with ART and Sound.
He has one map on CGS reviewed, and I read that he also made outworld in that maps readme.
Anyhow I tried the wayback and the url for the map dl just isn't provided.
Thanks if anybody can find it or even check if they have it.

I reckon they would appreciate this little piece of music.
It is a 15 years old piece but I still listen to it from time to time.

This tune was in fact the one who got me into Gojira.
Their last big involvement was as opening band for the summer olympics in Paris.
Not very often you'll encounter an extreme-metal band in the olympics, do you?
