It would be nice to read news from other places and sources than you normally are looking up, right?
Maybe it isn't exactly global headlines but it might be some funny, peculiar, unusual or just exciting local stuff.

Huh? I have no idea what went on back in the 50s, but don't we need a little more info? Like how they were "responsible" for UFO sightings, and why would they do that?
(Are they saying they faked some evidence or what?)
That probably refers to testing of top-secret aircraft & military technology, weather balloons & stuff used for atmospheric testing some of which eventually found its way down and fed people's imaginations.

I wouldn't take some half-baked snarky list serious.
Most shit is regional, not so much state specific.
oregon, washington, northern california, northern idaho, western montana generally have the same stuff and the same kind of people.
same with kansas, nebraska, illinoise, iowa, & indiana
and again with texas, oklahoma, arkansas, new mexico
etc., etc.

It's still mildly surprising that they'd put Washington in the top 10. Seems like if it wasn't for Seattle nobody would know shit about this state - that's fine by me - all the other good stuff about the state is a well kept secret and we don't need any more people here crowding up the roads, restaurants, and camp grounds.
So my parents came home from camping over the fourth of july weekend just to get evacuated.
