The aliens have taken over a space station orbiting the Earth and plan on launching an attack. Duke must get in there, set off the self destruct button, and make his way to the escape shuttle.
A large sized map with a fairly decent layout and an average design. The areas of play mostly consist of corridors and medium to small sized rooms. There are a few areas where it's obvious that more time was taken to create a good atmosphere with the texturing and shading, mostly the alien absorbed areas. For the most part the texturing is a bit redundant and the shading inadequate. Detailing and sprite work is sporadic, but there's some real nice architecture. Overall the majority of the map has a sterile, washed out feel to it.
Gameplay is pretty easy and repetitive. Find the card or throw the switch and go back to the other side of the map to the newly opened passage. Repeat. Alot of backtracking and running through the same corridors over and over. This wouldn't be so bad if some aliens were spawned to make it a bit more challenging and maybe add a couple more video screens & cameras to see which door was opened. Tons of ammunition and health spread all around gives Duke a large advantage when it comes to fire fights and survival. The only time Duke is in danger is the encounters with the oddly out of place pig cop tanks in the corridors and if you move too slow at the end while the base is self destructing. Overall an easy map with simple puzzles and minimal combat.
