A large map with alien base styled arms jutting from a central cavern hub. Pretty good atmosphere; nice shading, but some of the high-tech areas could have used a larger variety of textures. Some standard architecture throughout, and viewing ports are present in a few locations to see outside and add some depth. It's required to pass back and forth through the hub area on several occasions and navigating this area consists of alot of climbing and jumping which can wear on the patience a bit as it slows down the flow and progression of the map.

Duke is armed to the teeth, but there's multiple clusters of tough aliens located at key points as well as some strategic loners and spawns. There's just enough health to get by and you're put in the position of having to fight several tough aliens in relatively close quarters, so don't go running headlong through any doorways as you may encounter a surprise ambush or a triggered explosion. Even though there seems to be plenty of ammunition for most of the arsenal, I would suggest switching weapons often. A key card and switch throwing affair; while the puzzles themselves aren't overly complicated, game play is slowed when you push a button and have to spend time searching for the next button that was just revieled.
