BJShrine (CBP1) is a collection of the best parts of previously released levels from a selection of prominent mappers. Initially a good idea, but the execution leaves alot to be desired. There was a sector limit imposed, so some of the submissions had to be stripped down to meet the requirements. The sections were added "as is", so they weren't adjusted in any fashion to help the flow of the overall end result and were either connected to the next part by dropping down a shaft or going up an elevator. There was no set theme so it's obvious that the map is just a bunch of random pieces haphazardly jammed together. Game play also suffers from this problem. The team leader did nothing to polish the final product and it was left up to the authors of each individual piece to add anything to their sections. Some have enemies, some don't. Some added resources, some didn't. The end result is a random walkthrough of disjointed rooms with random puzzles and random battles. Interesting as a museum piece, but not as a serious map for design or game play.
