You're trapped on an alien planet. The aliens have a sick sense of humor and enjoy causing Duke to wander around aimlessly. They achieve this by hiding switches and keys in obscure locations and with no indication of what they do.

Aside from the annoying switch puzzles and perpetual alien behind the door ambushes, the map is aesthetically well designed with nice use of architectural detailing and constructions to give the map some depth and atmosphere. As the title of the map indicates; the ambiance is very dim and gloomy with heavy shading and a dark texture set. The use of colored textures (pals) provides contrast so everything doesn't look the same.

Mainly about puzzles and exploring the map still presents some combat scenarios. The weapon selection is varied, but ammo for each is very limited. Several of the ambush encounters are basically set-ups for failure, but there should be enough health to survive most of them if a little caution is exercised.
