An urban map with typical locations such as: apartments, a library, a night club, and some street and alley areas with a park plaza and a playground.
There's also an underground alien hive with pools of nasty water and a hatchery where the enemy boss has set up base.
Most of the level is well detailed and constructed with a few minor exceptions, such as the back alley, that are rather barren and plain compared to the rest of the map.
The layout is based on using the two main outdoor locations as hubs with buildings around their circumference that contain areas requiring exploration. The more the player looks around the better off they'll be because of all the neat little stashes of additional weapons and supplies tucked away in niches off the beaten path.
A little caution about how aggressive the player gets with testing the limits of what can and can't be reached; there's a clipping bug that gains access to an advanced part of the map. It allows the player to finish the map by skipping nearly three quarters of it, but the amount of supplies and ammunition are very limited at that point and you may find yourself in a bit of trouble if not well prepared.
Game play consists of mainly a key card hunt with a button seeking puzzle in the library.
The keys are well stashed and it may take some time to find them, but it's also an opportunity to collect much needed guns, ammo, and health.
The fire fights at the beginning are pretty tough due to the lack of weaponry, but once a couple more firearms are found things even out a bit. Be sure to take your time and look everywhere, there's stuff stashed all over the place.
The map ends with a showdown facing a boss, it's not too difficult, but the setup is interesting.
Sprite Work/Detailing: 9/10
