HEXHOUSE.MAP BY AARON BARBER, 6/28/96 ================================================================= Title : Hexhouse Filename : Hexhouse.map Author : Aaron Barber Email Address : abarber@ucla.edu or barber@seas.ucla.edu HomePage : www.seas.ucla.edu/~barber : www.seas.ucla.edu/~barber/duke.html Description: This level is a large single player level that starts on an old deserted road up in the mountains. There is a giant Hexagon house(home of the big guy)that Duke must get through before he's eaten alive. Explore caves, strange alien facilities, and venture through the giant redwoods. WARNING: This map is very large and was constructed on a Pentium 166 w/ 16MB. This map runs very smooth on my machine, but I don't know how it will do on slower machines. I recommend running it in DOS mode only if you have less than 16MB. story: Sorry Duke, the game ain't over. Hurry up and get your ass to the mountains, cause you left some of those alien bastards behind. The ones you let get away have now built a giant facility, and they're multiplying fast. It's up to you to end this alien infestation once and for all! ================================================================= * Play Information * Episode and level : This is my first level. Single Player : Yes, quite large with lots to explore! Dukematch : Possibly, but you need to add Duke sprites. Difficulty settings : No New Sounds : No New Graphics : No New Music : No * Construction * Base : I built this level from scratch. The house architecture idea came from the house I grew up in when I lived in Oregon. I may redo this more accurately using the Quake engine. The house actually has some curved surfaces on the ceiling, multiple loft levels, and horizontal beams that were impossible to recreate using Build. Editors used : BUILD Know bugs : sometimes this map crashes if you jump into the bath tub and land on the edge of the tub and the water at the same time. * Copyright/Permissions * Please distribute this map freely, but keep this text file with the map at all times so people can find out updates, etc., and my hours of making this map won't go unrecognized. Thanks! * Where to find this level and others from me * www.seas.ucla.edu/~barber/duke.html
