================================================================ Title : KTIM (with added bonus Timburger) Filename : KTIM.MAP, TIMBURGR.MAP Author : Tim Nolan Email Address : tjnolan@pantheon.yale.edu Misc. Author Info : I'm a college student and a die-hard video game addict. My dream job is to work for 3DRealms designing levels! Description : Important: These maps both require the Atomic/Plutonium Pak version of Duke. They both use lots of art from version 1.4/1.5, as well as some user art. I added some of my own art because everyone must have seen all the sprites in the game by now and I wanted something unique in my levels. KTIM and Timburger are my second and first levels, respectively. KTIM (I love slapping my name on everything) is a single-player map that takes place in a TV station, while Timburger is a deathmatch-only map set in (you guessed it) a fast-food restaurant. Additional Credits to : ================================================================ * Play Information * Episode and Level # : NA Single Player : KTIM yes, Timburger no DukeMatch Level : Yes (both) Difficulty Settings : Yes. All difficulty levels are supported. If you find KTIM too easy on the default difficulty level, type "duke3d map ktim /s3" (no quotes) for more of a challenge. * Construction * Base : New levels from scratch Editor(s) used : Build Known Bugs : In KTIM, you have to press on the closet door in the dressing room six times to open it. After that it works fine. I have no idea why this is. * Where to get this MAP file * FTP sites: BBS numbers: Other: elitegames.com, and my Duke page at http://pantheon.yale.edu/~tjnolan/duke3d.html Watch for my upcoming levels such as "Rock This Town" and "Bus A Move"! Instructions to play "KTIM" and "Timburger": -------------------------------------------- Unzip ktim.zip into your (Atomic) Duke 3D directory. Run the batch file ktimin.bat to install the art and sounds. --You will probably get some "File Not Found" messages as you run the batch file. Don't worry about this-- this is normal. --The sounds replace what the dancing mouse robot says (he hosts a kids' show on KTIM). --The batch file backs up any conflicting art and sounds, so that you won't lose them. I don't see any reason for anything to go wrong, but just in case, I must warn you to use the batch file at your own risk. --If you want to deathmatch on KTIM or Timburger, just make sure all players run ktimin.bat first. Then start Duke 3D just the same way you would with any other user map. You know how to do that by now, right? To uninstall the KTIM/Timburger art and sounds, run the batch file ktimout.bat . I apologize for this potentially annoying installation procedure, but I hope it will enhance your enjoyment of my maps.
