-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- -=OMEGA=- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- File Name : OMEGA.MAP Author : Todd Hoffenberg a.k.a. Entakrid E-mail : Raptor@index.com -or- bhoffenberg@mindspring.com (for files only!) Personal Information : I'm just a high school student that's hooked on Duke, and, most likely, am going to fail Physics because of it.... Description : You awaken...Memory lost. You are on a column in broad daylight. All you can remember is something about imposter aliens and kill kill KILL... You rub your eyes and can't believe the beauty. You must have fallen through a time warp or something, because you appear to be in a gothic past that boggles your mind. This appears to be a large library area in a shrine, but there are no obvious exits. Apparently, this is some kind of virtual reality simulation. They really didn't skimp you on the detail! Every corner of the marble walls are shaded to perfection, and light sources from torches illuminate hallways. This beautiful arena, however, quickly turns into a deadly surprise! Don't gawk at this place too long, or you will be crushed by incoming bullets in an instant! This is a moderately sized dukematch level that's perfect for 2 to 8 people. 3 or 4 is reccomended, and 8 is a bit crowded, but it is still extremely fun gameplay with 2 people. There are several neat effects such as fountains, archways, floating stairs like those in quake, advanced lighting effects, cracks, and other neat things. Needless to say, it took a LONG time to make this level! Enjoy! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- * Play Information * Episode and Level # : Duke3D User Level Single Player : For looking around. Please e-mail if you find any Other maps by me : Xenex, Akrid, Babylon (coming soon!), Prophet (coming soon!) and a single player level currently un-named coming fairly soon... * Where to get this MAP file * This puzzles me....In order for you to be reading this file, you most likely already have it. If you don't, it will be available at all of the good Duke Nukem 3D pages. Also, all of my maps appear on the PC Gamer CD. This will probably be on the February 1998-ish issue. It will be on the site www.public.asu.edu/~dep70 for sure...and that site will ALWAYS have the latest version (if there is more than one version). -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- * Special thanks to: * Robert Travis and Legion for inspiration; all of the others who helped give me ideas as well... Also, thanks to all of my map testers: David Garcia, Jesse and BJ Riddel, Dan Hoffenberg, Clifford Hensley, etc. 3D Realms for making the best game ever (except maybe Final Fantasy 7)... And, of course, you for downloading this file. I'd like to extend VERY special thanks to Legion (whose maps include: Slooth, Cromag, Thunder Dome, etc.) of whom I got a LOT of help from with my shading and I appreciated his comments. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- * Special Note: * Included with this .ZIP file are 4 music files (m1.mid, m2.mid, m3.mid, and m4.mid). They are (in order) Ace of Base's "All that she wants", Mortal's (I think...) "Mortal Kombat Theme", Nirvana's "Heart Shaped Box", and a song written by someone off of AOL that I downloaded... entitled "Ncarnate"...written after the guy who wrote it lost his best friend to a car accident. Be careful with this song...it can make you go crazy with fear and dark vibes. As you can see, this level can desplay a wide range of styles according to music... All for the better dukematch! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- * Legal Crud: * This note is legal tender for all...doh! Wait, that's what's written on my dollar here! Seriously, I don't care what the hell you do with this map as long as you don't rename it and/or take credit for my work. You can use it for inspiration or even copy sectors from my map to yours. But...please give me credit. I did make this all by hand, and I'd appreciate it! Thanks! * Have fun with this map! *
