An EDF off-world base.

There's t much too it atmospherically since it's made up of several redundant rooms and corridors with pretty much the same texturing everywhere. For a base on an alien planet there's not too much evidence of any high-tech equipment, or anything else associated with occupation. Other than some ambient sounds and lighting effects it's pretty plain and unadorned.

Game play consists of finding a few switches and a couple keys. There are two large areas with pools of water that act as small hubs; the premise is to explore the corridors that jut off the first open section for the purpose of opening an underwater forcefield that allows passage into the second large pool area.
Then the player must explore the corridors off the second hub to find a jetpack in order to reach a key and return to the first pool and finish out the level. Nothing very complex or complicated about it.
Initially the player is provided only a pistol, but the alien ratio is higher than the ammo provided so there may be several instances of being unarmed until a couple of the other weapons are located.
The level is loaded with aliens, but the combat is redundant and predictable. The same combinations of aliens are pretty much placed in the exact same way and the engagement scenarios repeats itself over and over. Just about every room has stashes of health and ammunition to boot, so the challenge is minimal unless the player gets caught off guard by one of the large respawn parties arriving on the scene.
