====================================================================== Title : Shark Filename : Shark.MAP Author : Colin Borland E-mail : CoBorland@aol.com Web Page : N/A Misc. Author Info : Nothing that would be at all interesting. Other Levels : None Description : Time hasn't been kind to Duke. Living alone in a cold, damp flat in a nasty part of town has left him bitter and depressed. We join Duke doing the dishes and contemplating suicide. But, just as he's about to end it all, his aging video answerphone crackles into life, calling him out of retirement for one last mission... (Good Heavens, what an original plot) (Press F1 during the game for the full story.) Additional Credits To : Big thanks to Klaus Breuer for his excellent map editting FAQ. ====================================================================== * Play Information * Episode and Level # : E1L8 Single Player : Yes (Recommended) DukeMatch 2-8 Player : Hmm (2 player DukeMatch is supported. BUT... this level was designed for a single player to explore, so a DukeMatch game might not be that much fun.) Cooperative 2-8 Player : Yes (Up to 8 co-op players are supported. But, as with DukeMatch, in practice it might be a bit dull.) Difficulty Settings : Not implemented Plutonium Pak Required : No New Art : Yes New Music : No New Sound Effects : No New .CON Files : No Demos Replaced : No ===================================================================== * Construction * Base : New level from scratch Level Editor Used : BUILD.EXE Art Editor Used : EDITART.EXE Construction Time : Started August 1998; Completed February 1999 Known Bugs : None * Where to get this MAP file * File location : If you are reading this, then you have it. Otherwise, Email me and I'll send you a copy. ===================================================================== *Important Information* Installation : This Duke level has some new art and modifies other graphics. If you are unsure how to install new Duke art, just follow the simple instructions below: 1) Check your Duke 3D directory. If there is a file called TILES012.ART move it to another directory. (If there is no such file go straight to step 2.) 2) Now simply put the new TILES012.ART file which was in this ZIP file into your Duke 3D directory. NOTE: Do not change the file's name. The new art is now installed. To restore your original art, simply move the TILES012.ART file to another directory. Obviously, if you moved an old TILES012.ART file prior to installing the new one, then move the old one back to your Duke directory. Doddle. Important Notes : (Not the most vital piece of info, but...) This map was constructed in the UK (Scotland to be exact) and has a number of jokes and cultural references peculiar to the UK. Therefore, if any players from abroad want to know what I'm on about, feel free to drop me a line. ======================================================================
