An EDF base on an ice planet. From the frozen landscapes to the high tech indoor areas the map is solidly constructed.
The facility sections are nicely detailed and have prominent trimwork while the outdoor locations are made of snow drifts and ice covered craggy cliff faces. Some stronger wall shading would have really improved the effect of snow-blindness in the open fields, but it's still very atmospheric.

Game play is a mix of button and key locks. The first section is linear and it's merely a matter of unlock and move forward.
Towards the end there is some running back and forth through a valley, but the progression is still pretty logical. Once inside the base proper action really picks up and there are several instances of heavy fire fights with a good variety of aliens attacking from many directions.
During the first few sections health is scarce and ammunition is a bit stingy; it can get pretty hectic and dangerous, but it's not unfair.
