Contact the website you got it from and they'll tell me, and I'll release the right level. y1 TITLE: Do you mean the official name of my map? I guess it's "THE FORGOTTEN ANOMALY" Definition of anomaly: (Encarta 99 on CD) "Deviation from the normal order, form, or rule." In other words, a situation or thing or idea that is unusual or out of place. The title fits perfectly, because this space ship/ a few other locations is definetly a deviation from the normal. This is, hopefully, the final anomaly of alien presence duke will have to deal with. But, unfortunately, it seems duke is in for more in later levels in episode 1, episode 2, episode 3, episode 4, various add-ons, and Duke4 (the game that they'll probably never finish)(Poor Duke!). y2 FILENAME anomaly.map y3 AUTHOR Refer to me as either K.A.P. INC., or K.A.P., y4 EMAIL ADDRESS I am much more humble than you are, you inferior person, so therefore I do not wish to receive any extremely long and admiring comments about my level which is even considered superior to the ones in the game, according to some people (Just joking, I just don't include my screen name for security measures) y5 MISC. AUTHOR INFO There are no feminine temptations in this level. I'm not gay, I just hold true to christian principles (I do, however, use occasional vulgar language, but I try not to) You may wonder, however, how I got to be playing Duke Nukem in the first place. Well, here is the explanation: I don't consider alien guts sinfull, or harmful to my mind in any way. I totally disagree with that phychologist bullcrap. And, I play with adult mode off, and my Dad brought it for himself/me/siblings. y6 DESCRIPTION Story: Duke Nukem, after being abducted by the aliens in red light light district, is flown to a alien space craft, where he is examined to try to find the secret of how he became 3-d and how he endures such punishment. Duke remains conscience throughout the experiments. Horrified, he watches as they inject a serum they extracted from his blood into a itty-bitty toad thing with rocket launchers strapped to its back. The pitiful thing was only twenty four pixels tall (half of duke's height in the side scroller(s?)), but after they injected it, it grew tremendously. Its rocket launcher straps snapped as it grew. When it finally stopped expanding, it was over 190 pixels tall (uneducated estimation)!!!! It was fitted with new rocket boosters. Aliens roared and talked in low deep voices: "Die-die human-man-hu," said a levitating fat thingy with several blades attached to its bottom (an assault commander) "roar, roar, roar-roar, oowwm," said a alien creature that had been reffered to as a trooper on the news. "Unpronouncable sound, unpronouncable sound, munch, crack, crack, munch," said what had been called an octabrain. Rough translation: "So our experiment worked! We have created our Overlord! Duke, and even Bill Gates will be no match." (Forgive me Bill, for poking at you. You are just such a vunerable victim for being made fun of) "Yes, and just for the fun of it, let's put it under an alien ventilation system, next to a room with protozoid slimers arranged in a circular pattern with explosives right next to them so duke can easily avoid the slimers by blowing them up before there simple nervous can activate. And be sure to include a little place where duke is safe from the insane rage of our overlord but he can still shoot it. Surely out Overlord is indestructable!" "Doopy, doopy, dooo, what's one plus one again?" (Perhaps the octabrain should use his brain mass some other way than blasting things to smitherines) After this brief conversation, duke realized his mighty foot still had some ammo the aliens hadn't taken away, so he managed to kick the (thankfully) unarmed aliens to death in the time that toadish monstrosity turned around. Duke managed to rush out of the room and into a captured human space ship. He put the ship on cruise control to the nearest space station which still had distress calls coming from it. Because of the ships incredible speed, he reached his destination as soon as he left the captain's chair to go exploring. He found a pistol with a conviently coincidental amount of ammo (48). Out of the corner of his eye, he thought he saw something climb into the captain's seat........ Explanation of why the 3-d biographers we know as Allen Blum and those guy(s) who made the duke nukem maps didn't include this little known adventure of Duke Nukem: Duke suffered amnesia from the time of 12:40 to 12:40 (approximately two hours)(Duke has always pondered why it has been and always will be 12:40, December 2006). Thus, he never was able to recall his anomaly experience to the duke nukem team, so they could not make a level of it. What is planned to happen after anomaly: Duke will be recaptured, and upon seeing the massacre of enemies he made, they strip him of his weapons a second time and send him directly to an electric chair (hypocrites) in the level dubbed "Death Row." General description: Anomaly is an extremely well architectured, texturaly diverse, effect filled, enemy loaded, explosion packed, awesome level. There will be suprises, I don't know how many interconnecting circular layouts, ingeniously layed out switch series, one secret that is probably larger in area than the main level itself, one secret area that connects practicaly half the level together, and one other. Possibly more. I almost guarantee a great experience in this level. y7 ADDITIONAL CREDITS TO My brother, because anomaly was originaly intended to be a mini-level for him, and because he supported and praised my level for most of the time I've been building it. And, a very close friend of mine who agrees my level is extremely good, has tested Anomaly, basicaly built the blue sprite bridge, and thought up the thing where you press the switch and weapons teleport in. And, my parents, who allow me so much time to play on the computer which I mostly use to build levels(syke). ======================================================== y8 *PLAY INFORMATION* EPISODE AND LEVEL NUMBER When I play this level on my computer, and go into tab mode, or map mode, it says it's episode one level one (I think). It may differ with your game. I didn't specify it to be a particular level or episode. SINGLE PLAYER Yyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeessssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DUKEMATCH LEVEL There are dukematch and coo-op thingys in my level, so you can play coo-op or dukematch in anomaly. DIFFICULTY SETTINGS I did not put in difficulty settings, and will not. You can be almost sure of that. y9 *CONSTRUCTION* BASE New level from scratch, definetly EDITORS USED The build editor, of course. I did not use the doom wads or modify any art in any way I know. KNOWN BUGS The earth in the space texture is split in half. You may die for some reason when you back up or head into some of the bigforce windows (force field between you and space). Some walls on doors or elevators are not properly oriented. This is not really considered a bug, but it makes the doors dematerialize and rematerialize instead of go up or down. This isn't really a bug, but when playing the level, keep this in mind. The elevator after the hexagonal hallway after the staircase can only take you back down from where it came from by standing on the elevator and shooting the switch that made it come up with a weapon. If the elevator goes up instead of down, lower the rising platform leading to the cafeteria down to the level of the main elevator. The elevator platform will go down. The elevator platform bug was a happy mistake, making players use their noggins'. Lastly other paralax textures have somehow become spliced with other ones. y10 *WHERE TO GET THIS MAP FILE* If you are reading this, you have been to or are at that website. I intend to keep this notepad file with the level. y11 OTHER: I've been through enough haven't I? Oh, yeah, I've been working since December 31st 1999 till July 8th and I am still working on this map.(Approximately 162 hours work estimated) I have a level that is already out or is probably going to be out. It is called lotsmon. It's a brainless, storyless, pure fun single player level with 200 (I think) enemies in one large area with a lot of ammo and a lot of health and a few devious and clever traps you can set up to get some enemies in and some cool things to hide behind and sniper from. Expect more cool another cool level in another 6 or so months! I plan to make a high speed multiplayer level and possibly another multiplayer level with subways (no more comments, I don't to give away my original idea). Possibly I could put them together in one map. Who knows? The Final Anomaly was finished July 20th 2000 AD somewhere between 8:00 PM to 8:03 PM (I didn't check the time till a little later, so the exact time is still uncertain). I considered my level complete when I finished the last (final) test run. y12 A bonus: The KAPian level rating system: Here's how it works: 1: Choose whether you think the level is an action level or a creepiness and/or suprise level. If the level is both, average the two scores together if so (Average= Add the two scores together and divide by two). Action Rating (1-10) 1-2 (Hardly any enemies, no acton effects [explosions, etc. Really stinks]) 2-4 (Failed attempt at action or poor action. One or two okay or bad action effects) 4-6 (Most levels score here. One or two decent action effects, good enemy battles, etc.) 6-8 (An achievment. Not to shabby at all action effects, either fewer spectacular ones or pretty good stuff scatered throughout the level) 8-10 (Whoa! Stuff that makes you go wow inside your head [or almost] throughout the level) Suprise/Creepiness 1-2 (No creepiness/suprise, pretty stupid) 2-4 (Failed attempt at creeepiness/suprise or unintentional creepiness/suprise, less than decent) 4-6 (Moderate creepiness/suprise. Average stuff. One or two instances of suprise and general creepy feeling is typical of 4-6 ratings in this level rating system) 6-8 (Pretty good creepy stuff. An achievment. Fusion Station (Episode 2 Level 4, original Duke Nukem 3d) might get a 7 or 8 in this level rating system) 8-10 (Don't play with the lights off) The following ratings must be included. (You were supposed to choose whichever one pertained to the level for the above two or if they both pertained to the level you were supposed to average the two together) Texturing/Architecture 1-2 (One or two textures, one to about ten pointless rooms. Pretty stupid) 2-4 (Less than decent amount of rooms, lack of variety of textures, poor texturing matching and stuff) 4-6 (This is what must user levels get. One or two instances of cool architecture or spread out okay architecture) 6-8 (Good stuff. Something you can tell took some time and effort. Texturing is diverse and good looking and put together decently to pretty good) 8-10 (Wow! Excellent architecture/ texturing throughout the level! A rare level) Complexity/Ingenuity 1-2 (One to ten or so rooms, no ingenuity [by ingenuity I mean means circular layouts, clever level layouts, etc.]) 2-4 (One or none examples of ingenuity, less than decent amount of rooms and/or complexity) 4-6 (A couple of examples of ingenuity, not that good to decent level complexity) 6-8 (Pretty good level layout, intilligent switch stuff and touchplate activations, etc.) 8-10 (Loaded with lots of ingenuity, excellent puzzles or clever switch, touchplate, etc. stuff, a large but navigable level or any other sized level) Okay! Now add the three scores together (choose a specific number for each), and divide by three. The number produced is the KAPian level rating. Have somebody other than youself to rate your levels.
