====================================================================== Title : Train of Pain Filename : train-ca.map Author : Chris Allcock E-mail : steve.allcock4@virgin.net Web Page : http://jump.to/chris@his-site/ Misc. Author Info : 18, male, student, British Other Levels : Yes - see my web page STORY: Even after the Cycloid Emperor was defeated, ammo, supplies and the occasional woman would continue to 'disappear'. The US Government was eventually able to pinpoint the location of the remaining aliens - an old train depot a few miles outside of L.A. A frontal assault was out of the question - with their superior technology, the aliens would slaughter the army. However, a stolen passanger train that the aliens had converted was discovered to be stopping to refuel at one of L.A's train stations. Duke Nukem is watching the news and finds out about the train - CNN's ace reporting skills coming in handy once again. "Hmm." he says to himself. "If the army can't get into the depot, I guess it's up to me. He he he." Starting in Duke's apartment, you must make your way down to the train station and board the train. Once at the depot, find the office building that the aliens are using as a base, and kill anything that moves. And some stuff that doesn't, naturally. Additional Credits To : 3D Realms for making the levels, and my testers: Bill Hayes, David Henson and RoosteR DucK. Also Blazing Torch, and Master Of Stealth. NOTE: When playing this map in Dukematch, access to the train is sealed off. Instead, teleporters can be accessed to take players between the depot and the city. There are several reasons for this, but the main one is that, if I hadn't done this, the level would be too big. But I'll make a deal with you - Rare sectioned off certain sections of their levels in GoldenEye, and although you can see their reasons for doing so many people wanted the choice of whether or not they played on the full level. If demand is high enough, I'll release a 'special' version of the map that allows access to the train in Dukematch. Can't say fairer than that, eh? Oh, and some nitpickers have complained that the train makes noises after you've stopped it - it's because it's an emergency brake, it doesn't stop the wheels turning around.
