    Duke is trapped in a city under siege by a large alien attack force and it's up to him to eliminate the threat through any means necessary.
    The map consists of a huge street area that serves as a hub to all the above and below ground areas that need to be explored. Prominent sprite constructions, detailing, and intricate architecture set up the atmosphere of complete destruction. Buildings are blown apart, things are exploding and burning, the streets are strewn with rubble, and there are signs of mayhem and devastation everywhere.
    The street area is wide open for exploration and initially there's no specific order that must be gone to first until you encounter one of several locations requiring a key to enter. Extensive searching for supplies and keys with intense combat scenarios as you move from location to location is the name of the game. There's not many view screens to guide you, so when in doubt of what to do next, just follow the constant action of spawned aliens. If it's quiet, then you're not going the right direction.
