A few words with Thobias Fast (Loke) by Puritan on July 26-2012

Age : 25 (2012)
Location : Sweden
Occupation : Being Lazy.

CGS : When did you first get in touch with Build/Mapster?
(Loke) : Around August 2008. I was reading Ryan Lennox's tutorial on the internet and decided to give it a whirl as it seemed easy enough. I was pretty much hooked after that.

CGS : What was your first map, released or unreleased?
(Loke) : Crossroads, released in August 22'nd 2008.

CGS : What is your favourite among your own maps?
(Loke) : Desert Storm.

CGS : How many maps have you done?
(Loke) : 6 released maps and a few unfinished maps.

CGS : Where do you get inspiration from?
(Loke) : Apart from taking inspiration from a few different works I make most of the stuff up by myself, probably why I tend to work so slow.

CGS : Do you listen to music whilst mapping? If so, what did you listen to?
(Loke) : Not always but occasionally it can happen that I load up some video game music to calm myself down a bit. Relaxing music, such as ambient music, is also a huge favorite of mine.

CGS : Do you see mapping as competitive?
(Loke) : Unless it is specifically a competition, no.

CGS : Do you still touch Build/Mapster?
(Loke) : Yes, though with a few breaks in-between.

CGS : Are you playing any DN3D maps these days?
(Loke) : Yes, as a matter of fact I just went through a couple of maps an hour ago. There are hiatuses when I don't touch any DN3D related stuff but I always venture back. I think I'll die with Duke Nukem 3D in my mind.

CGS : What's your favourite map of all time?
(Loke) : It Lives by Gambini.

CGS : What are your opinion about the HRP and Polymer projects?
(Loke) : Appreciate all the hard work the guys behind the HRP has put into it but personally I don't care about it at all, I prefer the old sprite look by far and I shrug whenever 3D models are forced upon you in a mod or map. The Polymer render is cool and all but I wish they'd optimize it, my ATI card can barely handle any map in this mode.

CGS : What other games do you fancy?
(Loke) : Half-Life series, Unreal series (specifically Unreal 1, UT99), Doom series and a few others I can't remember.

CGS : Finally, is it something you'd like to say to the DN3D community?
(Loke) : Thank you for keeping this old horse alive, especially TerminX for EDuke32. Keep making awesome maps and mods!
