A few words with Alejandro Glavic by Puritan on August 29-2012

Age : 26 (2012)
Location : Argentina
Occupation : Unknown.

CGS : When did you first get in touch with Build/Mapster?
Alejandro : I think I was 15. That's eleven years ago

CGS : What was your first map, released or unreleased?
Alejandro : I've made a lot of small unreleased maps recreating some places near my home when learning Build. My first released map was "adg01"

CGS : What is your favourite among your own maps?
Alejandro : Military Madness. Definitely i think it has everything a map should have. Most of my other maps left me thinking they were a "fastly finished thing" with a lot of stuff being kept out.

CGS : How many maps have you done?
Alejandro : Around 15 released maps (without counting CBPs and stuff). No way to count unreleased things...

CGS : Where do you get inspiration from?
Alejandro : Most inspiration in city maps came from places where I have been actually, other kind of maps could come from everywhere (tv, movies, etc.)

CGS : Do you listen to music whilst mapping? If so, what did you listen to?
Alejandro : Yes, usually some local heavy metal bands. International bands also have a place of course but I really like argentinian music more.

CGS : Do you see mapping as competitive?
Alejandro : Of course it's competitive! I mean, my only reason to make maps is just because I like doing them and I don't care about if there are better or worse than any other; but after I get them done I can't avoid comparing to other similar ones. There are always some details to be polished in your work and I think it really helps yo to make an effort to become a better mapper.

CGS : Do you still touch Build/Mapster?
Alejandro : No, since a long time ago

CGS : Are you playing any DN3D maps these days?
Alejandro : No, maybe one or two a year.

CGS : What's your favourite map of all time?
Alejandro : Hollywood Holocaust. It's just perfect and unbeatable. And if it's about personally inspiring maps, I think bobsp2 was far the most inspiring one for me.

CGS : What are your opinion about the HRP and Polymer projects?
Alejandro : We're talking about really nice stuff here, both projects are very good, but personally I prefer to play the game as is originally. I mean, of course cool and detailed graphics are good, but that's not (for me) what i'm looking for in Duke.

CGS : What other games do you fancy?
Alejandro : I'm not really inside gaming nowadays, just playing Pro Evolution Soccer with friends some times

CGS : Finally, is it something you'd like to say to the DN3D community?
Alejandro : Just thank you to all for keeping it alive for so long.
